I went as a group with two other friends under the name pocket butter knife (or pocket-butter knife(?) i think the DA account has the hyphen?). Being the first time we went to DO we were really quite unorganised...
Printing occurred like the night before the actual event and we spend most of the night/morning (aka normal sleeping time) cutting out the works using scissors (we should really invest in a guillotine or be more organised).
DO was really exciting and exhilarating (since we didn't have breakfast or lunch but made it alive till 4pm - i really don't quite know how). It was really fun getting to see everyone's works and meeting some artists that i really admire from DA in real life and buying their prints <3!!!
I think we were disappointed that alot of our original creations (as in not fan art) were not very popular since we put double or even quadruple the effort in creating these characters/costumes ourselves.
Despite not quite breaking even and having far too many prints leftover, it was really fun and worth all the effort and money that went into it! And the my fellow artists are already saying "ooo let's do this or that for next year!"
I think we have learnt a lot from the experience and will be bigger and better by next year! so DO watch out! XD
I'd like to thank everyone (especially all friends and family) that came to our stall and supported us whether it was buying a print or just a nice comment !!XD
